The Department of Information Systems and Technologies (IST) is one of the most dynamic and rapidly developing fields of today’s digital age. The department aims to educate professionals who can meet the information technology needs of businesses and organizations and who can follow and implement technological developments. It is fundamentaly a multidisciplinary field that brings together computer science, management sciences and business processes.
The IST Department prepares students to work in different areas of the information technology sector by providing them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Its primary objective is to educate competent individuals who can integrate complex business problems with information technology solutions, perform data analysis, and design and manage information systems.
During their education, students generaly take courses in the following areas:
Programming Languages and Software Development: Students acquire software development skills in areas such as Python, Java, C#, database programming, and web technologies.
Database Management Systems: Database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL, together with data storage, access, and security, are taught.
Networks and Cybersecurity: Students learn about computer networks, network protocols, cybersecurity threats, and protection methods.
Business Intelligence and Data Analytics: Concepts such as big data, data mining, machine learning, and business intelligence applications are examined.
Systems Analysis and Design: The analysis of business processes, the design of information systems, and the principles of project management are taught.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Students are introduced to the core software systems used by businesses.
Fundamentals of Business and Management: Students learn the foundations of business disciplines such as economics, marketing, and finance.
